About the Work
So what is it that we do?
1. Disciple - In Matthew 28, Jesus tells his disciples, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” The command? Make Disciples. Why? because I am with you. This is not a promise. It is instead a cause and effect issue not an if - then statement. Since Jesus is with us, we disciple. This is what we do. We disciple.
2. Multiply - Discipling also involves training others who have been discipled how to disciple others themselves. This is the 2nd level of discipleship training. The Key Word in all of this is TRAINING. Paul repeatedly likens living the Christian LIFE to training and running a race. At every level training is the foundational action. We train to train so that they can train. The purpose of this multiplication is to begin a movement of disciples who are discipling others.
3. Release - The next level is to not only release people into ministry with accountably, but also to train people how to release those they have trained so ministry multiplies. All of this includes training in appropriate accountability through the creation of Discipleship Networks.
There is much more that we are involved in, Community Health Evangelism, Bible Studies, Small group leadership, and more as time goes on. However, all of this is to search and to invite people into a discipleship relationship with Jesus.
